 Dr. Linda Vasquez

Executive Director
Dr. Linda M. Vasquez

Linda is the Executive Director at DREAM of Hattiesburg, Inc. Linda completed her Ph. D. in Human Performance (Emphasis Administration and Teaching) from The University of Southern Mississippi, School of Human Performance and Recreation. Her dissertation was “The Effects of an Experiential-Based Prevention Education Program on Alcohol, Tobacco, and Other Drugs Knowledge, and Social Attitudes and Skills of First-Time Offender, Non-Adjudicated Youth.” She also holds a Master of Social Work from The University of Southern Mississippi and Master of Science (Therapeutic Recreation) from Oklahoma State University. Awards include the National Association of Social Workers Mississippi Chapter Social Worker of the Year 2012, Mississippi Association of Addiction Professionals (MAAP) Prevention Professional of the Year 2006, Mississippi Prevention Professional, MAHPERD Recreation Community Teaching Award, the Mississippi School for Addiction Professionals Herbert L. Loving Outstanding Service Award 2016, The University of Southern Mississippi, School of Social Work Research and Leadership awards and NCAA full scholarship collegiate assistant coach (The University of Southern Mississippi) and full scholarship collegiate athlete (Oklahoma State University). Linda also participated in Florida’s Ironman in 2015.

Linda has been recognized as an Internationally Certified Addiction Professional by the Mississippi Association of Addiction Professionals. She has also completed an Iron Man as a fundraising event for DREAM of Hattiesburg, Inc. among many other such sporting events. Each year, she hosts many field students from The University of Southern Mississippi and William Carey University in various disciplines such as social work, child and family studies, and public health. Her awards include the National Association of Social Workers Mississippi Chapter Social Worker of the Year 2012; MAHPERD Recreation Community Teaching Award, MAHPERD Pride in Teaching Award 1998; the Mississippi Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance Health Educator of the Year 2002; MAAP Prevention Professional of the Year 2006; and The University of Southern Mississippi School of Social Work Research and Leadership awards. She also held positions as NCAA full scholarship collegiate assistant coach (The University of Southern Mississippi) and full scholarship collegiate athlete (Oklahoma State University) among many other recognitions.

Ursula Jones

Ursula Jones is a retired health educator and has been involved with DREAM of Hattiesburg, Inc. for over 25 years. She served on DREAM of Hattiesburg, Inc.’s founding Board of Directors. Throughout her service to DREAM, Ursula has been a volunteer, a collaborator, and currently serves as the Financial Assistant to the Executive Director. Ursula enjoys photography, local history, and displaying her loyalty to her country.


Prevention Coordinator
Johnny B. Hansell

Johnny B. Hansell, Prevention Coordinator currently serves as the coordinator for the state youth suicide prevention project through the MS Department of Mental Health. He attended The University of Southern Mississippi and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in community health science with an emphasis in health promotion. He went on to attend graduate school at “Southern Miss” as well, graduating with a Master’s in Public Health with an emphasis in policy/administration. Johnny is a certified prevention specialist.


Financial Assistant
Clai Meador

Clai Meador was born and raised in Hattiesburg. He earned a BS in Business Administration from Mississippi College and his MBA from the University of Southern Mississippi. He is currently the Block Grant Prevention Coordinator and Finance Director for DREAM. He is an instructor for CPR/ First Aid and Wilderness and Remote First Aid courses. Other achievements include earning the rank of Eagle Scout. He enjoys playing softball in his spare time..

Ieshia Donaldson

Ieshia Donaldson was born and raised in Hattiesburg, MS. She attended The University of Southern Mississippi where she earned a Bachelor of Social Work Degree. While in the social work program at The University of Southern Mississippi, Ieshia volunteered as well as completed her internship at DREAM of Hattiesburg, Inc. Ieshia now serves full time as a prevention coordinator under the Drug Free Communities grant. She is the program coordinator for DREAM’s Community Planning Coalition and co-coordinator of DREAM’s youth leadership group (The DREAM Team & Junior DREAMers). Ieshia has a passion for working with the youth in our community and has goals to make our community better through prevention efforts and promotion of drug-free, healthier lifestyles.
